Editorial Policy

What we publish

EconomiaX publishes editorial guides to deliberate hidden material in film, together with reference material explaining the vocabulary and the methods involved. We do not publish reviews, ratings, ranked lists, news, or rumor.

Every guide is written for this site. We do not republish, syndicate, or aggregate material from elsewhere, and we do not commission content whose purpose is to occupy space around advertising.

Evidence and labeling

Each detail we describe carries one of two labels. Confirmed means the claim is supported by production records, first-hand accounts from the people responsible, published drafts, contemporary technical or trade reporting, or scholarly and museum documentation. Interpretation means the detail may be plainly visible while its purpose is undocumented.

Fan theories are never presented as fact. Where a theory is widely known, we may describe it and identify it explicitly as a reading, usually noting who proposed it and why it has been persuasive.

Where sources conflict, we present the conflict rather than resolving it silently. Where a claim rests on a single account, the guide says so in the entry itself.

Spoiler handling

Every guide states, before any detail is revealed, what kind of plot information it will disclose. The detail-by-detail section of each guide can be closed and opened at will, and a reading preference lets you keep those sections open across the site if you prefer.

We do not use vague warnings. A notice that says a guide contains spoilers tells a reader nothing; ours says whether the ending is discussed.

Quotation, copyright, and images

We do not copy synopses, transcribe extended dialogue, reproduce screenplays, or publish frames, posters, or character artwork from the films we discuss. Where a phrase is essential to explaining a detail, we describe it or quote briefly for the purpose of commentary and criticism.

All artwork on this site was created for this publication, or is used with permission, or is in the public domain. All film titles, characters, and trademarks remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Independence and conflicts of interest

We accept no payment, gifts, access, or consideration of any kind from studios, distributors, production companies, publicists, or their agencies in exchange for coverage, and no film is covered because someone asked us to cover it.

If that ever changes for a particular piece of work, the disclosure will appear at the top of the page in question, not in a footnote. Our full position is on the independence disclaimer page.

Authorship and production tools

Guides are researched, written, and reviewed by our editorial team. No guide is published without a human reviewer confirming each factual claim against a cited source, and the review desk is accountable for the labels applied to every detail.

Where any production tool assists with drafting, formatting, or checking, it does not replace that review, and it does not relieve anyone of responsibility for accuracy.

Updates and corrections

Guides are living documents. New commentary, restorations, archive releases, and reader submissions all prompt revision, and every guide displays both its original publication date and the date of its most recent update.
